Lulu Grave provides the solid drumming which carries the song over\u00a0every crescendo. \u2018Black &amp; Blue\u2019 is indie pop with psych\/punk fusion and retro\u00a0elements of \u00a0Fleur De Lys and Velvet Underground. It\u2019s a catchy tune with rich,\u00a0thickly-textured sound and no unnecessary clutter.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Indian Hill<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The wistful vocals of Lulu Grave are vaguely reminiscent of \u2018Twinkle\u2019 who had a hit\u00a0with \u2018Terry\u2019<em> <\/em>in 1964. \u2018Indian Hill\u2019 displays respectful and simplistic guitar-playing\u00a0with a keyboard doodle that hangs nicely in the background. This song could be\u00a0worthy of Debbie Harry or Nico\u2019s vocals, but Lulu does a more than admirable job,\u00a0offering a suitably vintage innocence to this ethereal and \u00a0melodic tune.<\/p>\n<p>This catchy double A-side is the band\u2019s first new material since last year&#8217;s acclaimed\u00a0debut album <em>Camera and Tremor. \u00a0<\/em>They also have the welcome addition of bass\u00a0player Chokis Costa.
