But it\u2019s paid off, and I applaud their excellent taste in music.\u00a0\u2018Slow Burn\u2019 was originally produced for Bowie\u2019s <em>Heathen <\/em>L.P by Tony Visconti and\u00a0includes Pete Townsend\u2019s masterful guitar-playing. This current version is endorsed\u00a0by Visconti who has offered to produce Films of Colour\u2019s album, not too shabby\u00a0for an unsigned band.\u00a0The song is handled respectfully with Andy Clutterbuck\u2019s sensual, crisp vocals and\u00a0controlled explosiveness that is perfectly placed alongside winding and\u00a0luminous guitar riffs by Clutterbuck and James Hatcher. Jack Allinson\u2019s manically\u00a0sliding bass and wizardry electronica is on sparkling form while James Rees-Flynn\u00a0ensures the determined drumming complete with fierce loops.\u00a0The result is a lush, intricately layered sound while remaining clear and well-\u00a0structured, offering precision, style and exquisite timing. Films of Colour have\u00a0produced a fresh, alternative version with original direction and musical\u00a0sophistication.<\/p>\n<p>The band has received several comparisons, but I choose to ignore the\u00a0Coldplay one, though I hear Chris Martin is a fan, but more impressively, so is Bowie,\u00a0who has allowed a download link from his official website.
