The Selecter\u00ae –\u00a0Starring Pauline Black & Arthur \u2018Gaps\u201d Hendrickson<\/p>\n

\u201cToo Much Pressure\u201d released by this important and influential platinum selling band in Feb 1980 remains a classic touchstone for a generation of Ska lovers and the band are excited to announce they will be playing the album in its entirety plus a selection of other much loved Selecter tracks and some new surprises at concerts throughout 2011.<\/p>\n

Mixing punk, ska and reggae, \u2018Too Much Pressure\u2019 successfully reflected the social and political issues of the early Thatcher years in Britain and gave a voice to disaffected youth across the racial divide.<\/p>\n

The Selecter\u00ae fronted by the original singing duo of the female icon of the 2-Tone era Pauline Black & Arthur ‘Gaps’ Hendrickson deliver classic hits like \u2018Three Minute Hero\u2019, \u2018Missing Words\u2019, \u2018On My Radio\u2019, \u2018James Bond\u2019 and of course \u2018Too Much Pressure\u2019.\u00a0New Selecter Album \u2018Made In Britain\u2019 & Pauline Black\u2019s 2-Tone Memoir \u00a0\u2018Black By Design\u2019<\/p>\n

2011 sees the return of one of the most vital, visceral and important Ska acts ever. Queen of 2-Tone, Pauline Black featured prominently in BBC4\u2019s recent \u201cReggae Britannia\u201d series, contributing to a 90 mins documentary and a live concert broadcast from The Barbican in London.<\/p>\n

The Selecter\u00ae have written and recorded a new 10 track album \u2018Made In Britain\u2019, featuring covers of Amy Winehouse\u2019s \u2018Back To Black\u2019 & a hugely popular anti-racist ska\/reggae re-working of Woody Guthrie\u2019s \u2018All You Fascists Bound To Lose\u2019 \u00a0re-invented as \u2018Big In The Body – Small In The Mind\u2019, which is due for release in September 2011.<\/p>\n
