The Image Has Cracked<\/strong><\/p>\n The Alternative TV Collection (Anagram Punk Collectors Series\/Cherry Red)<\/p>\n For a while there back in the late 70s Mark Perry and his Sniffin\u2019 Glue zine were ground zero in the UK \u201cpunk\u201d scene. After leaving the zine world behind Mark P. and Alex (\u201cNobody\u201d) Fergusson begin to make waves as Alternative TV. The duo were definitely not interested in becoming one of the now clich\u00e9d chainsaw brigade and so Perry and Fergusson mashed up their enjoyment of all things weird (Can, Beefheart and the like) to reggae forms and other avant-style treatments. I wouldn\u2019t say that everything included here in this extended version of the original Image Has Cracked LP release has aged that well but for my money I would easily rank\u00a0\u00a0the \u201cHow Much Longer\u201d 45, it\u2019s flipside\u00a0\u00a0\u201cYou Bastard\u201d and the fantastic \u201cLife\u201d as genuine classics of \u201cpunk\u201d during the \u201976-\u201977 period.
